Help, we need some Design Therapy over here!

What a Week! Could it have been any more full of contrast?

I came back from a blissful and perfect week, speaking at Rancho La Puerta. I was in such a high from being totally aligned and on my purpose of serving others and the universe presented the most interesting challenges upon my return as if jokingly coaxing me back to reality.

My clients missed me, all right? and they had a very funny way of showing it because right away they bombarded me with all the things that seemingly went wrong in their lives.  How dare I not be available for Design Therapy!

Almost laughable, from a toilet that was badly designed to the usual “nothing is getting done fast enough for my liking” mentality. Either way, it gave me a perfect opportunity to reflect on what is truly meaningful in my life and remind myself and them of the same.

These blessings included the new friends that I gained during a blissful week without technology with good old fashioned face to face human interaction. What an amazing test of patience it is to know you really can´t get ahold of anyone until you bump into them physically on your path or in a class.  It creates this beautiful sense of impatience and longing to see the person that you want to interact with.  This was such an eye-opening experience.

By contrast, as I mentioned, I received calls this week from 4 clients I hadn’t heard from in years, and I mean decades, reaching out to me for help with new projects stemming from significant changes in their lives. Just perfect.

This is what Design Enlightenment is all about. Life is not meant to be stagnant or permanently created, the fact is our lives change by the minute as so must we. We need to continuously evolve to the next level or stage and our living environments often stay lagging behind, all at once they will scream for attention to be “remodeled” or “redecorated” to conform and adapt to our new lives.

Sometimes it takes someone to come in from the outside and offer assistance in doing this and I love being there for those moments to witness, observe and consult my beloved client family into that next phase of their lives.  This is what I live for.

This is what I live for.

I feel blessed to witness and offer my guidance during these moments of “crisis” and provide comfort that all will be well.

With Love & Gratitude.

The Design Enlightenment™

This practice is just one way in which I encourage you to start thinking about your home and the spaces you occupy in a different way.  I created a movement called The Design Enlightenment™ which is about finding out what is right for you in regards to the spaces we give labels to, without the preconceived notions of someone else’s life. This is totally about what works for you, and I grant you the FREEDOM and permission to use your rooms as you wish.

The story behind Design Enlightenment is how I was able to consolidate the two things that are most meaningful for me: design and soulfulness. It’s how I was able to make sure that I couldn’t begin the process of creating Interior Design without it starting from a foundation of soul.
